About JAM Architects
A multi-disciplinary practice of architects, interior designers and 3D visualisers, with studios in Melbourne and Geelong, since 1998.
JAM Architects is a Victorian architecture practice founded in 1998 by Chris Manton and Kathryn Alexander, with studios in Richmond and Geelong. It provides architecture, master planning, interior design and 3D visualisation for residential, multi-residential, mixed use, retail and commercial projects for public and private clients.
Our practice
Since 1998 JAM Architects has created buildings and spaces that are contextually resolved, environmentally conscious and commercially grounded. Our work spans residential, multi-residential, retail and commercial projects for public and private clients.
We are large enough to take on whole precincts and small enough for our directors to stay personally involved with every client. That combination of design excellence, technical expertise and personal leadership is at the heart of the practice.
Architects, interior designers and 3D visualisers work side by side in our Richmond and Geelong studios, so every project has the full range of skills it needs.

Every design responds to its urban or natural surroundings: the street, the landscape, the heritage and the people around it.
Best-practice ESD from brief to post-occupancy, with projects assessed under Green Star and NABERS.
Materials chosen for beauty, durability, sustainability and ethical supply.
Restrained architecture, carefully resolved in its details.
Heritage kept and given new life, as at The Mill, Bakehouse Terraces and Coventry Place.
