Architects in Melbourne

From our Richmond studio we design apartment buildings, mixed-use precincts, workplaces and homes across Melbourne, and take them from feasibility through planning to completion.

In short

JAM Architects is a Melbourne architecture practice based at Level 2, 7 Howard Street, Richmond. Founded in 1998, it designs multi-residential, mixed use, commercial and residential projects across Melbourne, with master planning, interior design, planning permits and VCAT representation in house.

Richmond studio

Melbourne architecture, since 1998

JAM Architects began in Melbourne in 1998, and our Richmond studio is still where most of our Melbourne work is designed. Our directors lead every project personally, so the person who sets the design direction is the one who sees it through planning and construction.

Much of our Melbourne work is about renewal: turning former industrial land, car parks and under-used sites into places people want to live and work. Smith & Co in Collingwood, Coppin Street in Richmond and the precinct at East Brunswick Village all began that way.

Alongside the larger projects we design homes, heritage alterations and interiors, from a Victorian terrace in Parkville to a family residence in Kooyong.
